چکیده
Four experiments were conducted during 2019 and 2020 summer seasons at Weed Research Central Laboratory, Giza Ismailia Stations, to exploit of the allelochemicals potential aqueous extract derived from aboveground parts Ocimum basilicum on controlling some annual weeds growth cowpea peanut crops. Aqueous applied 40% concentration as pre-emergence and/or apportionment 30%+10%, 20%+10%+10% 10%+10%+10%+10% starting with one week interval for estimation effective periods. The main findings showed that essential oils aerial 41 compounds which analyzed by GC-MS. major Eugenol, phenol, 2methoxy-3-(2-propenyl), 1,3,6,10-Cyclotetra decate traene, 14-Isopropyl-3,7,11-trimethyl(+), genranyl-a-terpinene, Retinol, acetate, 3-ethyl-3-hydroxy drostan, 2-(7-hepta decynyloxy) tetrahydro 2h-pyran M&P-Camphorene. These have allelopathic effect weeds. On other hand, was superior over treatments increasing characteristics yield plants. Furthermore, treatment pre- emergence same pendimethalin soil-herbicide 4.2 l/ha. results true in pot field experiments.

This is the first report to identify the presence of chicoric acid (cichoric acid; also known as dicaffeoyltartaric acid, which is a caffeic acid derivatizedwith tartaric acid) in basil leaves. Rosmarinic acid, chicoric acid and caftaric acid (in the order of most abundant to least; all derivatives of caffeic acid) were identified in fresh basil leaves. Rosmarinic acid was themain phenolic comp...
متن کاملThe Effect of Adding Sweet Basil Seed Powder (Ocimum basilicum L.) on Rheological Properties and Staling of Baguette Bread
ABSTRACT: In this research, the functionality of sweet Basil seed powder (Ocimum basilicum L.) on Buguette bread quality and its potential application in retarding the staling process has been studied. Three different concentrations of the powder (0.5%, 1% and 1.5%, w/w, flour basis) were applied. The effects of powder on the rheological properties of dough were also investigated instrumentally...
متن کاملAqueous and ethanolic leaf extracts of Ocimum basilicum (sweet basil) protect against sodium arsenite-induced hepatotoxicity in Wistar rats.
We evaluated the effects of aqueous and ethanolic leaf extracts of Ocimum basilicum (sweet basil) on sodium arsenite-induced hepatotoxicity in Wistar rats. We observed that treatment of the animals with the extracts before or just after sodium arsenite administration significantly (p < 0.05) reduced mean liver and serum γ-Glutamyl transferase (γGT), and serum alkaline phosphatase (ALP) activiti...

Narrow-bandwidth light treatments may be used to manipulate plant growth, development and metabolism. In this report LED-based light treatments were used to affect yield and metabolic content of sweet basil (Ocimum basilicum L. cv "Ceasar") grown in controlled environments. This culinary herb produces an aroma highly appreciated by consumers, primarily composed of terpenes/terpenoids, phenylpro...
